展览着重从艺术本体的角度观察林岗先生的油画写生与抽象创作。前者呈现艺术家如何描写外物之像，后者观照作者怎样抒写精神世界，最终勾勒出林岗先生数十年的写生积累和抽象之变间的内在联系，希望对青年一代的绘画练习和创作提供借鉴。同时，展览也将以独立板块对林岗先生的艺术历程和重要成就进行回顾和总结。
This exhibition will examine both Mr. Lin Gang's landscape oil paintings and his abstract works through the lens of artistic ontology. Lin’s landscapes will showcase the artist’s attempts to capture the likenesses of physical objects; Lin’s abstract works will reveal the artist’s conception of the spiritual world. Painting / Living will further explore the relationship between Lin’s landscape and abstract works from past decades, and hopefully provide a creative reference point for younger generations of artists. Finally, a section of Painting / Living will specifically review and summarize Lin's artistic career and important achievements.
