“草地风”老甲经典作品回顾展第四回

前言
老甲曾在1995年于新加坡举办《草地风画展》，强悍之风风靡一时，他在前言中曾说：“我在新加坡举办的《草地风画展》。大部分作品是表现草原风光的,所以起名叫《草地风》,它只是我绘画作品的一个方面,是我近几年追求和试验的东西。
作品多为欢快的题材。
给人以快乐总比给人以压抑,给人以丑恶要好些,世界上有个潮流,谁画的(表现的)愈压抑;愈性感,愈肉欲;愈古怪;愈丑恶就愈富有“哲理性”;愈有“独创性”。并常常编入美术史,这种流行病已从西方流向东方。
人们需要深刻,但不需要邪恶;人们需要渲泄,应是奋斗中的渲泄!没有创造性的作品是一堆废物;然而创造性的艺术应使人愉快,使人振奋,使人高尚,使人类走向真正的文明。”
现在我们把老甲几十年研究的草原风光为主题的实验成果拿出来展示，再次命名《草地风》以回顾，希望让这股强悍的快乐的民族精神之风再次风靡并使人振奋！

Preface
Lao Jia once held the "Wind From Grassland Painting Exhibition" in Singapore in 1995, and the strong style was popular for a while. In the preface, he said, "This part of works contains a collection of the view of “Grassland" . Most of the paintings depict life in the grassland; hence the exhibition's title. This is a relatively new aspect of my repertoire which I have in recent years been exploring”.
The theme of these paintings is a joyous one: I believe in bringing happiness to viewers, not angst or uneasiness. Too often there is this tendency to heap praises on artists who infuse their paintings with painful, porno- graphic or weird images. The more of these subjects the works contain, the more 'philosophical' and 'original' they are deemed. Such methods employed by artists to find a niche in the history of art is a trend that has spread from the West to the East.
Humans need to be deeply moved, but not by weirdness. They need to find release from their struggles and the pressures of life. A painting without originality is useless. Art should be creative, bringing joy, class and culture to or world.
Now we are presenting the experimental results of the grassland scenery that Lao Jia has been studying for decades, and renaming it " Wind From Grassland" to review, hoping to make this strong and joyful national spirit once again popular and inspiring!
